Creative Storage Ideas for Your Apartment's Bedroom

We can never have enough space to fit all of our things, stay organized, and remain clutter-free. A little effort into the shelving and storage around your apartment will help you save on floor space and keep all your belongs together. Check out our list below of creative storage options perfect for people living in apartments.

Nightstand Storage Space

Let’s start with your bedside nightstand. The table beside most people’s bed is small and doesn’t provide much inside space for storage. Grab a few vintage suitcases, stack them on top of each other to make yourself a nightstand with space for your things. Try storing random items here that don’t get much use so they will have a nearby place without taking up room somewhere else.

You could also lift off the ground with floating squares (hollow square blocks attached to the wall). Place books or even small lamps here while saving your floor space.

Jewelry Behind the Mirror

Jewelry pieces are among the most commonly lost items in apartments. Bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and rings often get mixed up in the clutter of moving or even moving bodies in an apartment space. To keep your jewelry where you know it will be, start with an empty wall. Pick up some small hooks to hang your jewelry. Attach these hooks to the back of a full-length mirror, add hinges to the mirror, then attach it to the wall. Now you can swing open the mirror to peruse your options and close it to keep them all hidden together. If you are handy, try adding a frame for the mirror so you can have small shelves for the jewelry.

Under the Bed Storage

Avoid tossing things a random under the bed. Instead, use shelves or cubbies under your bed to create a reliable organization system that will help you keep clothes or other items out of sight and off the ground. To add extra space, you can add risers to your bed to give yourself a few extra inches.

High-Level Shelves

When you run low on floor space, look up! Consider adding shelving about 12 inches under the ceiling. Add blocks or even shelves with doors above your bed or around the perimeter of rooms to give yourself more options.
